VUOI LASCIARE UNA PICCOLA DONAZIONE?

Questo responsorio intitolato Libera me, Domine, de viis fa parte della Missa Pro Defunctis. In particolare, è il sesto responsorio della liturgia esequiale AD ULTIMAM COMMENDATIONEM ED VALEDICTIONEM ("ultima raccomandazione e addio"), mentre il feretro viene asperso con acqua benedetta ed incensato. Dopo i responsori seguono le Antifone In paradisum, Chorus angelorum e Ego sum resurrectio.

Testo latino Libera me Dómine de víis inférni, qui pórtas ǽreas confregísti: et visitásti inférnum, et dedísti éis lúmen, ut vidérent te: Qui érant in pœnis tenebrárum. Clamántes et dicéntes: Advenísti, Redémptor noster. Qui érant in pœnis tenebrárum.

Traduzione in lingua italiana Liberami, o Signore, dalle vie degli inferi, tu che hai infranto le porte di bronzo e visitato l'inferno, e hai concesso la luce divina, perché ti vedessero. Essi abitavano nelle tenebre. Nell'angoscia gridarono: Sei venuto, o Redentore nostro. Essi abitavano nelle tenebre.

English Translation Deliver me, O Lord, from the paths of hell, even thou that didst break the gates of brass; even thou that didst visit hell, and gravest light to the inhabitants thereof, that they might see thee: Them that were in the pains of darkness. Them that were crying aloud and saying: Thou hast come, O our Redeemer. Them that were in the pains of darkness.
